How can I get into sales with no degree?

I have been in admin and I did retail sales when I was 19 (now 31) I don’t know if that will have any relevance. What would be the best route? I am a single parent with three kids and feel that this may be the best choice for me. Please don’t advertise your own business.

    Chosen Answer:

This must be in the US, because in AUS, you don’t need a degree or cert. in sales to get sales jobs, if you want to work for a major telco or selling cars, all you need to is impress the employer, and try and sell yourself, then you’ll know whether or not you can be a sales person. You need to sell yourself first. Or go get a degree or cert. in sales.

police (corrupt and mean people, dangerous)
    nursing (mean people, unreasonable hours)

What are some good jobs for college students during the weekdays?

My job is only giving me 4 hours a week so I need to find a job for the weekdays, I don’t want to work in food or grocery.

    Chosen Answer:

    1. Barista at Starbucks, Duncan Donuts
    2. Sales Associate at a retail store like Best Buy, Fry’s, Home Depot, Radio Shack
    3. UPS package handler
    4. Overnight Stocker in any type of store. Doesn’t have to be a grocery store. Could be a hardware store.
    5. Cashier. Same as 4. Could be a cashier at anywhere.
    6. Receptionist for a car dealership, an insurance company or any other business firm
    7. Data entry. This one requires a bit of clerical experience, but is pretty easy to get into. All you do is type information from paper forms and applications.
    8. Paid internship

All these jobs are for the little-to-no-work-experience college students.

Retail Sales Jobs Can Be Difficult To Attain in Job

In today’s’ employment market, you cannot find any guarantee that you’ll be just going to be capable of finding work. Whatever types of work which you do, efforts are just scarce. On this planet of sales, everything is extremely more troublesome because many businesses are paying with a commission basis, meaning if you’re searching for sales jobs, you have to be great at whatever you do if you are about to eat.

Something else that you must do is sell yourself to your potential employer at the same time. Considering the variety of people seeking out work, companies are able to turn down an exceptional applicant and start feeling confident when compared to the perfect applicant can come along eventually. That’s the reason you have to make the best impression at the first time or will lose out on the chance of finding the job.

The most important impression which you simply make upon an employer has everything concerning your resume. While you distribute your resume for sales jobs, it should feel and look more advanced than everyone else’s. However this is difficult to do when a great deal of everyone is in need of work and perhaps thousands of citizens are seeking precisely the same job that you’re most likely, and you need to find a means.

One method to make your resume stay ahead of other salesmen and females is to apply numbers within your job descriptions. Numbers perform two services. To begin with, they draw a person’s eye, secondly, they split up quite a lot of text. Virtually everyone loves to read through short sentences to see occasional numbers. Don’t make things more difficult than they should be.

Once you have garnered that first meeting for 1 of the sales jobs you have tried for, it is advisable to make a reasonable impression on the interviewer to plan to invite yourself to their office in order to meet. You must sound confident and, because you are interviewing for a sales job, you need to sound just a little cocky also.

Be sure that you are usually in a snug position while you’re speaking, but don’t take a nap. Trust it or not, your posture will see inside of your interview. In case you are laying down, you may also wind up sounding lazy. Sit up straight with correct posture and you may sound upbeat and positive (really, it’s correct!).

When you find yourself one of the many lucky individuals that obtain a live interview for that sales job, you will want to consider how important it can be for making a feeling onto your interviewer. No matter whether it’s your first interview or third. Any time you shake the persons hand, avoid weak handshakes, even if you’re a girl. Sales jobs require confidence and strength just in case you never look to yourself in that way, you will subsequently be passed over.

You’ve heard that clothing is what makes the man and within job interviews that’s the same for both women and men. Dress considering the pay you want! Assuming you have a job interview, don’t dress business casual, dress business professional, that’s the impression you want to depart immediately after you leave an interview, that you were a veteran!

I just got hired as a Car Salesman for ford in Michigan and I was wondering is it a good career to go into?

I start this tuesday and was wondering would it be worth it. I worked for alot of different retail companies so I have alot of experience in sales. I know the job is probably only commission but I was wondering how long would it take for you usually to sell your first car and what are the hours?

    Chosen Answer:

Now that Ford is “seeing the light” and moving to more fuel-efficient vehicles, you have a fair chance of being successful.

If you are confined to selling F150s and other huge gas guzzlers, I would probably give you not more than 3 months before you transfer or leave.

I know a friend who sold 3 cars in his first week working at a GM dealership. He ended up in the top 10% of the sales ranking after one year.

So, yes, you can make it. Just be polite, not pushy, listen to the customer’s needs and comments, and above all , don’t discredit his/her opinion ( even if you think it’s worth dissing ).

As for hours, take the hours that not many others want – or when traffic may be slow – you have less competition from the other sales men, and be able to spend enough time with your customers. When you gain confidence – as well as make sales – then you can move to the prime hours

Retail Sales On The Up in Car

Kia is the young, dynamic and exciting Korean car company that took the automotive industry by storm with its 7 year warranty. All the car manufacturers have predicted a difficult year ahead for new car sales, even though the financial climate has improved the lack of the scrappage incentives will make it very difficult to entice customers to part with their money.

As predicted by the manufacturers, total new car sales in the UK during January fell by 11%, Kia Motors UK Ltd sold a total of 3,100 units in January which compared to last year is a fall of 38%. It is important to remember though that last years figures were heavily inflated by the Governmens scrappage scheme. It wasnt all bad news for Kia though, its retail only sales increased by a staggering 70%.

Retail buyers appear not to have been put off by the VAT rise, Michael Cole the Managing Director of Kia UK said, “There had been a general expectation that retail customers might be dissuaded from buying new cars because of the increase in VAT – but that didn’t seem to be a factor for us and our dealers. There wasn’t a big rush in December to beat the VAT increase and we didn’t see a fall-off in demand in January.

Kia Cardiff has plans to release three new models in its line up during 2011, the Kia Picanto, Rio and Optima. With these new models and its current model line up Kia expects to hold on to or even beat its 2010 total volume despite predictions that the overall market will fall.
